Samares is a new residential development consisting of a combination of one, two and three bed units in semi-detached, terraced two-storey houses and a number of three-storey apartment blocks built on existing agricultural and commercial land. The general construction of the development is timber framed with external masonry cladding.
The structural design was challenging due to the difficult ground conditions. This required T&G to come up with a innovative solution. This involved the use of soil mix ground stabilisation methods which in turn reduced costs and the length of the construction programme. A comprehensive drainage scheme including a SUD systems was designed for the whole site of approximately 45000 m2.
As part of T&G’s Imagineering service M3D did a Matterport 3D scan allowing a tour of the building online.
